Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a BESS Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Battery Energy Storage Systems on-site in Southern California. Applicants should have deep knowledge of battery tech, electrical systems, and EMS to support reliable power infrastructure.

You will collaborate with project engineers, perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, monitor via SCADA, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 1-5 years experience with battery storage systems; inverter maintenance is a plus.
• OSHA 10/30 preferred; electrician/energy technician certification a plus.

Job Summary

The BESS Technician will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing of the Battery Energy Storage Systems. Extensive technical knowledge in battery technologies, electrical systems, and energy management systems are crucial in this role.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related considerations. The annual target total cash compensation for this position is $90,000–$110,000, which includes base salary and target commission. Actual compensation may vary based on sales target achievements.
