Job summary

Avidex is seeking an Onsite AV Conference Support Tech - II to install, operate, and maintain AV/IT systems for meetings and events at customer sites. You will work closely with customers, IT teams, event coordinators, and vendors to ensure reliable performance and minimal disruptions.

The role requires hands-on AV/IT experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to deliver customer-focused service in dynamic environments. Schedule may vary with events, including occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in AV, IT, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of technical or onsite support experience in the AV/IT industry.
• AVIXA CTS certification or ability to obtain it within one year.
• Experience supporting meetings, conferences, events, or other customer-facing AV environments.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Apple environments and computer networking.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting video conferencing, audio, display, projection, and integrated AV systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, operate, and support AV/IT equipment for meetings, conferences, and events, including video conferencing, microphones, displays, projection, and audio systems.
• Provide Level 2 technical support by troubleshooting and resolving AV/IT issues to minimize meeting and event disruptions.
• Coordinate with customers, event teams, IT staff, and other technical resources to understand requirements and provide appropriate AV support.
• Support scheduled events, large meetings, and last-minute technical requests.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and adjust integrated AV/IT and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine system testing to support equipment reliability.
• Document technical issues, repairs, resolutions, and service activity.
• Review and manage open support tickets and service requests.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to Level 1 technicians and end users as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors or service providers when additional repair or specialized technical support is required.
