Confidential in Radford, VA is seeking an experienced Test and Manufacturing Automation Engineer to develop and maintain customized automation equipment and databases for global factories. You will collaborate with R&D and operations to support new product introductions and improve efficiency and quality. The role involves test analysis, software development, and maintaining fixtures and test software for motors and related assemblies.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Automation, Controls, Robotics, or Computer Science required.
• Strong LabVIEW, C++, C#, MATLAB, or VB experience.
• CAD software design experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Pro-E).
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls background to troubleshoot systems and test equipment.
• This position is ITAR restricted; U.S. Persons only (per ITAR).

Responsabilités

• Maintain operations support with an analytical mindset; derive robust corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and determine root cause/corrective action (RCCA).
• Design and modify automated test and manufacturing equipment including electrical schematics, CAD models, test software, and SQL/MySQL databases.
• Collaborate with R&D and operations to support NPI and improve efficiency and quality.
• Support Standard Work implementation and conduct quality checks/data collection.
• Resolve technical issues with development, manufacturing engineers, and production staff.
• Provide feedback on Design for Manufacturability/Testability to design teams.
