Job summary

Actalent, a global leader in engineering and sciences services, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a contract-to-hire role on a Springfield, MA construction project. You will support Project Managers with administration, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking, coordinating RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction project management, project engineering, or a related role.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes, contract documents, and project controls.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with overall project administration and coordination.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project schedules and help identify potential delays or issues.
• Assist with procurement and material tracking.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Support project reporting and maintain accurate project records.
• Attend project meetings and assist with communication between office and field teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, company policies, and project procedures.
