Job summary

RTX's Rockford, IL internship/co-op role focuses on materials science/chemical engineering coursework to support aerospace and defense hardware evaluation. You will interpret specifications, assess hardware against drawings, and document findings with formal reports, while collaborating with Collins teams on material and process challenges.

Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or advanced degree program and actively participate through the internship/co-op period.

Qualifications

• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Interpret specification requirements and communicate with Collins Operations sites and suppliers as required.
• Evaluate hardware for compliance to an engineering drawing to ensure all material and special process related requirements are met.
• Write Formal Engineering Reports to document findings.
• Do short term project management and collaborate with Collins engineering teams to solve materials and process challenges.
