This role is onsite in Rockford, IL from May/June - December 2027.

What You Will Do:
  • You will interpret specification requirements and communicate with Collins Operations sites and suppliers as required.
  • You will evaluate hardware for compliance to an engineering drawing to ensure all material and special process related requirements are met.
  • You will write Formal Engineering Reports to document findings
  • You will do short term project management and collaboration with Collins engineering teams to solve materials and process challenges.
What You Will Learn:
  • You will learn training and skill development to support RRCA and process improvement activities.
  • You will learn to apply knowledge learned through academics to validate hardware and/or process conforms to related specification requirements.
  • You will learn to interpret aerospace material drawings and specifications.
  • You will be trained to operate and interpret results from state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Office products.
  • Currently enrolled with at least 30 credit hours earned to date toward a bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or related field from an accredited college or university.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
