Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering student to join our onsite internship/co-op program. You will work closely with manufacturing teams to analyze processes and develop tooling using 3D printing to support production.

You will learn to plan operations, improve flow, and contribute to cost and efficiency projects while gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced engineers in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering and enrolled through the internship/co-op.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing floor employees to solve day-to-day issues and address longer-term projects.
• Design tooling to aid manufacturing, using 3D printing to support production needs.
• Analyze layout optimization, flow improvement, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying devices and subsystems.
• Assist in planning resources, materials, and personnel to maximize equipment utilization.
• Conduct studies focused on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory control, and production records.
