Job summary

Safran is seeking an Onsite Design Engineer to support joint development activities for flight control actuation systems in the civil aerospace industry. You will work directly at the customer site with Boeing and Safran teams to translate requirements into practical, manufacturable designs.

You will design mechanical components and assemblies, develop rotary and linear actuators, and create detailed 3D models and drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; minimum 10 years in related work; U.S. Citizenship.
• Advanced degree preferred or 12 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience designing mechanical components or systems in aerospace and working with customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite mechanical design and engineering support to Boeing engineering teams at the customer site.
• Translate customer requirements and constraints into manufacturable design concepts and solutions.
• Develop concepts and layouts through preliminary and detailed design using 3D CAD (Siemens NX).
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings; support design reviews.
• Conduct design trade studies and support tolerance, interface, and packaging evaluations.
