Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Actuation Systems

Location: Monroe WA 98272 - Onsite

Job Type: Contract 12 months +

Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and certification of hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD experience and a background in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and improve new and existing actuation products.
  • Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CATIA V5/V6 or SolidWorks.
  • Support product development, testing, analysis, and certification activities.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Support production and product engineering teams with design changes and technical solutions.
  • Coordinate engineering assignments and provide technical updates.
  • Develop practical design solutions for complex engineering challenges.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with mechanical design, modeling, and drafting.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hydraulic actuators, valves, pumps, reservoirs, accumulators, or hydraulic power packs.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical actuators, motors, ball screws, roller screws, gears, splines, or planetary gear sets.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, finishes, and certification requirements.
  • Experience with vibration testing, qualification testing, thermal considerations, or MMPDS material properties.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, MathCAD, or KISSsoft.
  • Aerospace or defense product development experience.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
