Job summary

The Ranch at Dove Tree in Lubbock, Texas, part of Summit BHC, seeks a Counselor to provide treatment and counseling to assist clients in recovery from addictions and related mental health issues. Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related health services field with 3+ years of post-Bachelor degree professional experience.
• OR master’s degree in social services, addictions, mental health or closely related health services field with 1+ years of post-Master degree professional experience.
• Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to identify history, current presentation, problem areas and ongoing clinical need for treatment.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the program.
• Develop and review initial treatment plans and progress, document as required.
• Lead group counseling, individual or family sessions and implement evidence-based modalities.
• Provide client and family education regarding substance abuse and psychiatric problems.
• Ensure timely and clear documentation of client care, treatment and incidents.
