The Ranch at Dove Tree in Lubbock, TX seeks a Counselor - LPC to support recovery programs and deliver individual, group, and family counseling. This role focuses on assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and aftercare planning in a residential/inpatient setting.

You will coordinate with insurance providers, document care accurately, and participate in community education and workshops. A bachelor’s degree is required; LPC licensure and CPR/de-escalation training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health, or related field.
• Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or practicum preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct client assessments to identify history, current presentation, problem areas, ongoing clinical need for treatment and risk assessment.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the treatment program.
• Participate in and prepare client treatment planning and plan progress reviews; document as required.
• Conduct group, individual or family counseling and implement evidence-based modalities; document progress.
• Provide client and family education related to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.
• Ensure all documentation of client care, treatment and incidents is timely and clear.
• Provide crisis intervention and seek consultation as needed.
• Plan and document aftercare for assigned clients.
• Act as liaison with insurance carriers as requested.
• Provide case management to ensure individualized quality care.
• Conduct educational workshops within the Hospital and in the community.

About the Job

The Counselor One provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, or mental health disorders, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Conducts client assessments focused on identifying client history, current presentation, problem areas, ongoing clinical need for treatment and risk assessment.
• Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the treatment program.
• Participates in and prepares client treatment planning and treatment plan progress reviews as assigned and documents as required.
• Conducts assigned group counseling, individual or family sessions and implements evidence-supported treatment modalities as assigned and documents as required.
• Provides client and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.
• Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
• Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed, and seeks consultation as appropriate.
• Plans for and completes required documentation of aftercare for assigned clients.
• Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.
• Provides case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care.
• Conducts educational workshops both within the Hospital and in the community as required.
• Serves as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements

• Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related health services field.
• Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
• Professional experience is not required, but experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum training is preferred.

Licenses / Designations / Certifications

• Must have current and valid licensure or certification as a social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state agency, including entry level licenses as issued by the state.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Work Location

This position is onsite and is not a remote position.
