Job summary
Techlite, a division of Zippertubing, seeks an Acoustics Engineer in Tempe, AZ to support design, testing, and development of acoustic panels and insulation products. The role blends acoustic analysis, materials science, and cross-functional collaboration in a small-team manufacturing setting.
You will perform calculations related to absorption and transmission, assist with testing and documentation, and help translate performance into customer-ready solutions while working onsite with
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Acoustical, or Architectural Engineering.
- 3+ years in acoustics, materials engineering, or product development.
- Understanding of sound absorption, transmission principles, NRC, STC.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Excel; CAD software experience preferred.
- Clear written and verbal communication; collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop acoustic panels and insulation systems.
- Perform acoustic calculations for absorption, transmission loss, and noise reduction.
- Assist in testing, validation, and documentation.
- Interpret customer specifications and translate into technical requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure scalable, cost-effective designs.
- Contribute to technical documentation and product data sheets.
- Support continuous improvement in engineering and production.
- Assist Sales in translating performance to customer-ready solutions.
