Job summary

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operating products, is seeking an Accounting Services Specialist in Columbus, Ohio. The role supports daily administrative tasks for new accounts, sales tax, accounts payable, and address validations, ensuring accurate customer records and smooth processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; some college preferred.
• General business experience preferred
• Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and managers; in written and verbal form.
• Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion while performing tasks.
• Computer literacy—Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to read/write small letters and numbers; perform arithmetic; follow written/oral instructions.
• Dependable; reports to work daily, barring unforeseen circumstances.
• Successful completion of a 90-day orientation period

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily administrative tasks for new account creation and maintenance, sales tax, accounts payable, and address validations.
• Provides exceptional service to customers, sales representatives and internal staff.
• Contacts sales representatives to obtain missing new account details for accurate records.
• Sets up new accounts, manual accounts, and Sales Reps accounts.
• Handles calls and voicemail professionally.
• Assists with tax certificate requests and preparation of sales tax audit requests as needed.
• Works closely with other departments to ensure smooth processes.
• Interacts with customers, sales reps, and internal associates to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
