Job summary

Dartmouth College is seeking an Access Control Technician I in Hanover, NH. This on-site role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of door hardware and access control systems to ensure campus security.

The position requires hands-on technical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. A valid driver’s license and safety training are essential. Regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalency required.
• Must have at least three years of relevant experience, two of which as an apprentice or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass required policy.
• Demonstrated skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical locking systems.

Responsibilities

• Installs new locks and door hardware on interior and exterior doors and performs keying.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains door hardware and electrified locks; replaces worn parts.
• Plans, coordinates and executes about 2,500 lock changes annually for student dorms.
• Maintains records of keys, locks, and security devices; enters data into access control system.
