Job summary

Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH is seeking an Access Control Technician I to install, maintain, and repair door hardware and access systems campus-wide. You will communicate with the Dartmouth community to ensure secure, reliable operation of locks and access control devices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• At least three years of relevant experience, two as apprentice or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical locking systems.
• Knowledge of electronic lock systems and access control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and follow complex instructions.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and testing devices.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install new locks and door hardware per project plans.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain locking systems and door hardware.
• Rekey locks and manage key systems as needed.
• Install, program, and maintain access control systems.
• Coordinate with campus departments and maintenance teams.
• Maintain inventory and documentation for keys, locks, and security devices.
