Job summary

Faculty will undergo comprehensive training and ongoing development in instructional technology and responsible AI practices, with no guaranteed hours, reflecting campus needs and discretion.

Qualifications

• A doctorate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in software development, programming, software engineering, or related computing disciplines.
• Degrees must be awarded by an accredited institution.
• Three to five years of applied professional experience in software development, software engineering, application development, or related programming roles.
• Demonstrated experience with modern programming languages, development frameworks, and software engineering practices.
• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to programming, software engineering, or application development.
• Strong subject matter expertise in software development principles, with ability to explain complex concepts to diverse learners.
• Faculty must commit to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.
• Two to five years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably in programming, software engineering, or related computing disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a campus template and includes terminal course objectives.
• Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises all course materials.
• Uses online technologies and course-related software to prepare and deliver courses.
• Models effective oral and written communication to engage students and improve learning.
• Sets course expectations by publishing terminal objectives and assignment dates.
• Ensures exam content aligns with course objectives and provides timely feedback.
• Demonstrates fairness in grading and embraces responsible AI practices in teaching.
