Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Michigan is hiring an Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk / In-Store Grocery Shopper to select and gather products for customers' online orders with a focus on freshness and quality.

The role includes assembling orders, processing coupons and payment, communicating substitutions when needed, and loading orders into customers' cars at pickup, all while delivering friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Select and gather products for customers' online orders efficiently.
• Initiate and complete selection for online orders.
• Assemble orders, process coupons and payment, and load orders for pickup.
• Scan and bag orders while following bagging standards.
• Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pickup.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Receive orders and store in optimal temperature zones.
• Read and follow directions in notes.
• Ensure quality and freshness of items.
• Communicate with customers via portable phone, responding professionally.
• Retrieve orders from staging areas and load into customers' cars.
• Provide a positive customer service experience to encourage repeat online shopping.
• Process orders through the POS system.
• Follow substitution policies for out-of-stock items.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas.
• Report discrepancies to the e-Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify supervisor of needed repairs.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
• Meet/exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
