Boston Globe Media is seeking early-career video storytellers for a one-year funded fellowship in 2027, based in Boston. The fellow will work across the Boston.com newsroom to cover local stories aligned with our editorial mission, focusing on high-quality video journalism for digital platforms.

The program is part of a partnership with Northeastern University and supported by a significant Stanton Foundation grant.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as a video news producer, preferably in a newsroom or digital media environment.
• Strong proficiency in shooting with professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
• Strong proficiency in video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Knowledge of social media and digital streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with graphic design, motion graphics, and/or animation software is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
• Strong attention to detail and visual aesthetics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in a team.
• A creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh ideas.

Aufgaben

• Conceptualize, plan, and produce high-quality video news stories for streaming and digital platforms including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram
• Shoot and edit video footage for digital platforms using professional cameras and editing software
• Conduct thorough research and develop compelling storylines and scripts
• Write clear, concise, and engaging scripts
• Collaborate with the news team to gather video assets, interviews, and content
• Communicate with the Northeastern research team about their role as a Digital Content Creator
• Interpret performance data and analytics to guide creative decisions
