Job summary

The Colfax School District seeks a Band Director to lead our 5th–12th grade band program for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year. This non-continuing position emphasizes building a strong instrumental program and inspiring students.

Qualifications

• Strong background in instrumental music and enthusiasm for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Lead performances and student growth beyond class.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on progress.
• Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues about progress and expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues in PLCs to apply current practices.
• Lead fall and winter pep band performances at games and events.
• Escort bands to Mass Band, Honor Band, and festivals.
• Participate in departmental meetings and school-wide events.
