Shelley High School and Hobbs Middle School in Shelley, ID seeks a dedicated Secondary Band Teacher to direct and expand our instrumental programs across both campuses. You will lead middle and high school bands, mentor students, and cultivate a high-caliber performing arts culture.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Music Education, a valid Idaho K-12 Music certificate, and demonstrated success in conducting and ensemble instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education from an accredited institution.
• Valid Idaho Music K-12 certification or eligibility to obtain it.
• Proven conducting ability and ensemble teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver instrumental instruction for middle and high school bands (6–12).
• Direct Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Ensemble.
• Coordinate concerts, community performances, and district/state events.
• Maintain positive, structured rehearsals and growth-focused classrooms.
• Oversee instrument care, inventory, and equipment storage.
• Collaborate with staff, administration, and families on student progress.
