Job Description Summary

Student Specialist will provide customer service support on behalfof One Stop Services. The One Stop provides essential informationand problem resolution to students, parents/families, and thebroader university community in the areas of registration,financial aid, billing, and payment. This position focuses ondelivering excellent customer service to both internal and externalcustomers. It will allow students to gain applicable experience incustomer service and office applications for resume building.

Students will be expected to work a minimum number of hours duringthe summer term, and will have an opportunity to continueemployment during the academic year.

Job Description
Essential Duties
  • This position requires a strong working knowledge of One Stop’sservice areas. Student Specialists complete a comprehensivetraining program.
  • Provide high-quality start-to-finish customer service.
  • Answer questions on the phone, by email, or in person in theareas of registration, enrollment, financial aid, student records,and billing and payment.
  • Assist with on-campus outreach and initiatives.
  • Help assist students and parents in the One Stop lobby.
  • Work on various tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in a customer service/call center position ishelpful.
  • Sensitive to cultural diversity and able to communicate andinteract effectively with people of all ages and diversebackgrounds.
  • Accuracy, dependability, and confidentiality are critical.
  • Ability to meet expectations in a fast-paced and dynamic,customer-oriented environment.
  • Be able to work independently, possess good organizationskills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritizemultiple tasks.
