Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the ICSP 1:1 setting at Truman Elementary in Vancouver, WA. The role is a one-on-one position supporting students with disabilities and implementing classroom goals.

Work is 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, with duties including data collection, behavioral support, and collaboration with teachers and specialists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and verified through official transcripts or ETS ParaPro.
• Associate degree or 90 quarter/60 semester credits, or 72 quarter/48 semester credits from an accredited institution, or ParaPro assessment score of 461+.
• One year of related experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience as part of an educational team and ability to work with children with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher in implementing and evaluating goals and objectives on individual student IEPs.
• Assist with data collection and observation of student performance.
• Provide instructional assistance and behavior support in small groups or individually.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with classroom staff and specialists.
• Attend training and participate in team meetings as appropriate.
