Job summary

Denver Public Schools seeks a Homebound Teacher to provide individualized instruction for students who cannot attend school. The position involves delivering about one hour of instruction per day, in students' homes or approved locations, throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Special Education and a Colorado Special Education license or eligibility for PLACE/Praxis II, with strong time management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current Colorado Department of Education Special Education license or PLACE/Praxis II eligibility required.
• Experience with Special Education students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsels students to encourage and support achievement.
• Observes, evaluates, reports student progress and health.
• Prepares lessons aligned with curriculum and state/local requirements.
• Delivers instruction in the home or approved site.
• Communicates with parents/guardians and school staff to address needs.
