Job summary

Duke Health Integrated Practice in Durham, NC seeks a Nurse Practitioner specialized in WOC to provide direct patient care for wound, ostomy, and continence issues within the Cancer Center.

The NP will perform exams, order tests, prescribe interventions, and educate staff, working with colorectal surgeons and oncologists; requires NP program completion, WOCN certification, and NC licensure; typical hours Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and NP certification.
• Must have or obtain WOCN certification.
• Licensed as NP by North Carolina Board of Nursing and NC Medical Board.
• Minimum five years nursing experience; WOCN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physician and healthcare team to assess and plan patient care.
• Perform physical exams, order tests, and provide procedures as appropriate.
• Prescribe interventions and medications within scope of practice.
• Educate patients and nursing staff on wound, ostomy and continence care.
• Coordinate patient care with surgical and oncology teams.
