Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Nurse Assistant for the 5C Oncology Unit. This full-time position covers 36 hours per week with nights (7:00 pm–7:30 am) and an alternating weekend schedule.

You will work under a Registered Nurse to perform patient care, document care provided, and support a safe, therapeutic environment. Eligible for full-time benefits, and the role includes responsibilities such as patient assistance, feeding, mobility, and coordination with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Nurse Assistant program preferred; titles may vary (PCT, PAT) but role is NA.
• Enrolled nursing students okay if Fundamentals of Nursing completed.
• Foreign trained RN relocating to the US without MI license considered.
• Medical Assistant program with or without experience acceptable.
• At least 1 year of NA/PCT/PAT or similar experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN in admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
• Provide personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic patient environment.
• Document patient care provided.
• Respond to emergencies and alarms and communicate promptly.
• Perform general clerical duties as assigned.
