Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Clinton Township, MI is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Assistant to support the Oncology team under RN supervision. You will perform basic patient care tasks, assist with safety and comfort, and help manage daily needs in a busy hospital setting.

You may be enrolled in a nursing program or hold a Nurse Assistant certification. BLS Heart Saver orientation is provided. Flexible evenings/weekends and hands-on experience with a leading health system are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nurse Assistant program completion preferred; titles may vary (PCT, PAT).
• Enrollment in a nursing program acceptable with Fundamentals of Nursing completed.
• Foreign trained and licensed RN relocating without Michigan RN license considered.
• Medical Assistant program possible qualification.
• At least 1 year of NA/PCT/PAT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN in planning and implementing patient care under supervision.
• Provide input to safety and comfort needs of patients.
• Respond to emergent situations according to procedures.
• Participate in continuing education and adhere to performance standards.

Work Schedule

Part Time (24 Hours Per Week)

Midnight Shift, 6:30PM-7:00AM, Weekends Included.

General Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. Recognizes and participates in own continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT) but perform the same job role.)
• OR May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
• OR Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan Rn license.
• OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
• OR At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
