Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a scheduling-focused professional to coordinate medical appointments among patients, providers, facilities, and staff in Tucson, AZ. You will manage referrals, authorizations, and payer interactions while maintaining clear communications.

The role requires 2 years of scheduling experience in a clinical setting, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with medical scheduling software and Office tools. Bilingual Spanish may be a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent working knowledge.
• At least 2 years scheduling experience in a physician’s office or hospital.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with office software and medical practice management/scheduling software.
• Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding preferred.
• Experience with various insurance plans or workers’ compensation preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish may be preferred for some assignments.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, facility resources, ancillary staff, records, referrals, authorizations, and payers
• Receiving and initiating calls to/from patients, providers, provider offices and facilities
• Providing patients with information and pre/post-test instructions
• Effectively communicating and building impactful relationships through written, digital, and verbal channels

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• 2 years of scheduling experience in a physician’s office or hospital
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with commonly used office software and medical practice management/scheduling software
• Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding (preferred)
• Sound working knowledge of various types of insurance plans and/or worker’s compensation (preferred)
• Bi-lingual in Spanish may be preferred for some assignments
