Job summary

MultiCare Cancer Institute in Yakima, WA is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator Specialist for the MCI North Star Medical Oncology to coordinate provider surgery and clinic schedules. This full-time, day-shift role works as the first point of contact for hospitals and surgery centers, handling appointment and operative scheduling.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance benefits, obtaining pre-certifications, coordinating pre-op and post-op visits, and scheduling provider meetings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of clerical experience in a medical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures.
• Verifies insurance benefits.
• Obtains insurance pre-certification and authorization as required.
• Coordinates and schedules patient appointments to include pre-op, pre-admit and post-op appointments.
• Schedules all meetings for provider, including attorney and vendor meetings.
• Maintains and adjusts provider clinic schedule to accommodate cases using Epic and MS Outlook.
