Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking an Oncology Scheduler in Lisle, IL to coordinate appointments for Oncology & Hematology patients. You will answer calls, schedule infusion and provider visits, and assist nursing staff by handling faxes and rescheduling as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong telephone and computer skills, and a patient-centered approach. Travel may be required, with a base pay range noted in the compensation statement.

Qualifications

• Experience in telephone, computer-based customer service and scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients warmly.
• Verify patient information and appointments.
• Schedule and reschedule oncology appointments and pre-op tests.
• Inform patients of prep instructions and route to nurse when needed.
• Prepare paperwork for doctors and referral coordinators.
• Coordinate daily doctor schedules with facilities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and organized workspace.
• Cover for coworkers as needed.

Oncology Scheduler

Hours for this position - 8:30am-5pm Monday- Friday

Travel may be required.

Schedule for Duly Oncology & Hematology patients. Answer our appointment line and assist patients with scheduling their infusion appointments along with Provider appointments. Assists our nursing staff by monitoring faxes, incoming calls, and assists with rescheduling appointments. Provide friendly and professional service scheduling appointments and procedures for patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet patients in a friendly manner.
• Verify patient information and accuracy.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments and pre-op lab and/or other testing before procedures if necessary.
• Contact patient to confirm appointments and procedure.
• Explain and verify proper prep instructions with patients, route to nurse if appropriate.
• Prepare all essential paperwork for doctors, referral coordinator and files.
• Verify daily with facilities the doctor’s schedules.
• Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Cover/fill-in for co-workers as needed.
• All other duties/responsibilities as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Medical terminology, verbal and written.
• Must have the ability to learn new computer programs.
• Act professionally towards customers, physicians, and co-workers.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize.
• Must posses time management skills.

EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

High School Diploma or GED.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.35-24.52, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
