Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a part-time Night RN for the Oncology Unit MCC-8. You will conduct assessments, administer treatments, and collaborate with physicians to coordinate care for surgical oncology patients.

A NJ RN license, BLS, and 1 year acute care experience are required; Bachelor's degree preferred within 5 years. EPIC EMR familiarity and ACLS/National Board certification are assets. 36 hours/week with weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification, with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire.
National Board Certification and ACLS Certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Prior 2-3 years of RN experience within acute care is highly preferred and comfort with EMR systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment.
Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR to promote continuity and patient safety.
Contribute your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, driving seamless communication and transitions of care.
Take an active role in a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
Pursue continual professional growth through continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
