RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a part-time Night RN for the Oncology Unit MCC-8. You will conduct assessments, administer treatments, and collaborate with physicians to coordinate care for surgical oncology patients.

A NJ RN license, BLS, and 1 year acute care experience are required; Bachelor's degree preferred within 5 years. EPIC EMR familiarity and ACLS/National Board certification are assets. 36 hours/week with weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification, with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS Certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Prior 2-3 years of RN experience within acute care is highly preferred and comfort with EMR systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in strong clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Contribute your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, driving seamless communication and transitions of care.
• Take an active role in a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.

Surgical Oncology is an 32 bed Oncology Unit . All 32 beds are private rooms. In this unit, you will see a variety of surgical & intermediate care cases.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
