Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit in New Brunswick. The role covers night shifts, a 36-hour work week, and a focus on family-centered care within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include patient assessments, administering treatments, medical record documentation, and education for patients and families. Required are NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and 1 year pediatric RN experience; a BSN is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- ACLS, PALS, and APHON Chemotherapy Certification are required.
- 1 year Pediatric RN experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree required.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
- Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
- Partner with physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record for continuity and safety.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Be part of a collaborative team focused on safety and outcomes.
