Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN-accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Michigan.
• BLS certification required.
• One year of acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to organization targets for net operating margin.
• Participates in cost containment through efficient use of supplies and time management.
• Adheres to unit budgetary practices.
• Supports patient flow through compliance with unit and Patient Services policies.
• Maintains flexible scheduling to provide care in all inpatient units.
• Communicates with patients and families in a professional and therapeutic manner.
• Performs assessment and synthesizes data on patient physiologic, psychologic, and cognitive status.
• Coordinates a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnoses.
• Delegates and supervises care ensuring standards and continuity.
• Collaborates with health care disciplines to facilitate outcomes and discharge planning.
• Identifies patient learning needs and ensures discharge instructions are understood.
• Exhibits nursing judgement and critical thinking within the nursing process.
• Administers medications per policy.
• Documents patient care clearly in the electronic record.
• Participates in quality management and keeps knowledge up to date.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality and supports risk management.
• Participates in safety, infection control and regulatory compliance activities.
