Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Financial Clearance Coordinator to support clinical and financial clearance processes, including eligibility verification, authorizations, and financial counseling. The role collaborates with patient access teams, payors, and clinical staff to resolve barriers to care.

Ideal candidate has accredited nursing education with oncology experience and utilization review with external payors; knowledge of cell therapy and related certifications

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum 2 years oncology nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years utilization review experience with external payors.
• Preferred: knowledge of cell therapy treatment; CCM, CHAM, ACLS, or PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and benefits and document using institutional and payor systems.
• Obtain required pre-authorizations and coordinate with payors or vendors.
• Support clinical review and medical necessity justification for authorizations.
• Provide financial counseling to patients regarding estimated costs and responsibility.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of communications and outcomes.
