Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide high-quality patient care across the cancer treatment continuum. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied staff to manage treatment, symptoms and supportive care in an outpatient setting.

The role requires TN or compact-state RN licensure, at least 1 year of RN experience in oncology, and an ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card within 6 months. BLS is required; oncology certification is encouraged within 2 years.

Qualifications

• RN license to practice in TN or compact state.

• Minimum 1 year RN experience, oncology preferred.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card required within 6 months of hire.
• Active BLS provider card required.
• Oncology certification strongly recommended within 2 years.
• Experience in an outpatient facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs direct patient care in collaboration with care team.
• Reviews and updates patient data prior to and during visits.
• Assesses and treats symptoms related to disease and treatment with providers.
• Performs telephone triage and evaluates patient concerns.
• Administers chemotherapy and other therapies per TO standards.
• Documents administrations and services per policy and billing.
• Maintains EMR documentation and reports.
• Travels to TO clinics as needed.
• Supervises LPNs, CNAs and MAs.
