Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care through all stages of cancer treatment, from diagnosis through end of life. You will collaborate with physicians, manage IVs and ports, and administer chemotherapy per TO standards.

Ideal candidates hold TN/compact RN licensure, have oncology experience, and possess or will obtain ONS chemo/biotherapy and BLS certifications. Outpatient experience is preferred and travel to TO clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Current TN or compact state RN license.
• Minimum one-year RN experience.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card within 6 months of hire.
• Current TO approved BLS provider card.
• Oncology certification strongly recommended within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in an outpatient facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs direct patient care with the care team.
• Reviews and updates patient data before and during each visit.
• Assesses and treats symptoms with the physician/provider across disease/treatment stages.
• Performs telephone triage to evaluate patient concerns.
• Starts peripheral IVs and manages ports and central venous access when needed.
• Administers chemotherapy and related therapies per TO standards and documents administration.
