Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a registered nurse to provide safe, high-quality care across all stages of cancer treatment. The role involves direct patient care, chemotherapy administration, and collaboration with physicians and SCRI nurses where applicable.

Responsibilities include patient education, EMR documentation, and coordination of supportive care with hospital staff. Candidates should have an active TN or compact RN license, oncology experience, and a BLS card.

Qualifications

• Current TN or compact state RN licensed to practice.
• Minimum one-year RN experience. May waive with Executive Director of Nursing approval.
• Oncology certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Current TO approved BLS provider card.
• Experience in an outpatient facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs direct patient care, collaborating with other care providers and team members.
• Reviews and verifies patient data prior to and during visits.
• Assesses/treats symptoms related to disease, treatment, and progression with the physician.
• Performs telephone triage to assess patient concerns and needs.
• Administers chemotherapy and other drugs per TO standards after training.
• Documents administration of therapies and related charges.
• Maintains EMR documentation and ensures timely lab specimen collection.
• Supervises LPNs, CNAs and MAs; travels to TO clinics as needed.
• Participates in committees and ongoing training for professional growth.
