Job summary

Tennessee Oncology in Nashville is seeking an experienced registered nurse to support patient care across cancer treatment and research programs. You will work with physicians and SCRI staff to deliver safe chemotherapy, manage symptoms, and educate patients and families through their treatment journey.

The role requires nursing licensure, oncology experience, and certification within defined timelines. You will supervise LPNs, CNAs, and MAs, handle IV access, and collaborate to ensure

Qualifications

• Current TN or compact state RN license.
• Minimum one-year RN experience; may waive with Executive Director of Nursing approval.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card required within 6 months of hire; within 9 months if <1 year oncology.
• Current TO approved BLS provider card.
• Oncology certification strongly recommended within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in an outpatient facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs direct patient care with the care team.
• Reviews and verifies patient data before and during visits.
• Collaborates with providers to assess and treat symptoms and illness.
• Performs telephone triage to assess patient needs.
• Starts IVs and manages ports as appropriate.
• Administers chemotherapy and other drugs per TO standards after training.
• Documents administration and charges; ensures timely lab specimen collection.
• Monitors anticoagulation (PT/INR) and manages Coumadin therapy.
• Supervises LPNs, CNAs and MAs; manages inventory.
• Travels to TO clinics as needed.
• Completes required training and SCRI paperwork when applicable.
