Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide individualized care for oncology patients and families, following hospital guidelines and ANA ethics. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and ensure accurate documentation while prioritizing patient education and safety.

You'll join a 22-bed medical observation unit, with 3 twelve-hour shifts and some weekends. A BSN is preferred; ADN with experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing (or equivalent).
• RN licensure in the State of Florida (or multi-state with Florida primary).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring of patients requiring observation and short-term medical management.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, escalating care as appropriate.
• Manage common oncology-related complications including pain, nausea/vomiting, dehydration, fever, electrolyte imbalances, anemia, neutropenia, and treatment-related side effects.
• Educate patients and caregivers on symptom management, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, case management, social work, nutrition, and other team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, and excellence with patient-centered care.
