Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Nurse Resident (RN) to join the Medical Observation Unit as part of a structured 12-month residency. The program emphasizes mentorship, leadership development, and a transition-to-practice path for new graduates in a world-class cancer center.

The role requires a BSN (or ADN with 1 year of relevant experience), FLRN license or multi-state privileges with FL as primary state, and BLS.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing required.
In lieu of Bachelor's, an Associate's degree in Nursing plus 1 year of relevant experience may be considered.
Current Registered Nurse license in Florida or Multi-State privilege with Florida as primary residence.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsabilités

Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring of patients requiring observation and short-term medical management.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as appropriate.
Manage common oncology-related complications including pain, nausea, dehydration, fever, electrolyte imbalances, anemia, neutropenia, and treatment-related side effects.
Educate patients and caregivers on symptom management, medications, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, case management, social work, nutrition, and other team members.
Maintain accurate documentation adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
