Rochester Regional Health is seeking an Oncology Referral Specialist who serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, and referral sources within the Lipson Cancer Institute. This role coordinates intake, ensures timely referrals, and processes authorizations for tests and procedures across the cancer center.

The position supports scheduling, tracks referrals, and monitors attendance and outcomes, with a focus on patient-centered coordination in a fast-paced health system

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent and strong communication; healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team and manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilités

• Provide telephone and in-person screening and initial contact with referral sources and potential patients.
• Coordinate intake and referral process, determine priority needs for assessment.
• Obtain procedure and diagnosis codes to authorize/pre-certify testing.
• Complete pre-certification/authorization with the patient’s insurer and document outcomes.
