Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant, Practice Operations, to support healthcare delivery in the practice setting. The role includes pre-visit planning, patient preparation for exams, and coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will participate in maintaining clinical supplies, updating records, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. A high school diploma or equivalent and MA program graduate are required, with BLS/CPR

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS/CPR current or within 60 days of hire; through ARC or AHA.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record prior to the appointment with recent test results and correspondence and determines needed services by conferring with the provider.
• Completes pre-charting of all value-based pieces up to five days prior to patient’s appointment.
• Sends messages to the Care Team when warranted.
• Prepares patients for examination and escorts them into the exam room including height, weight, vital signs, and updating medication and allergy lists.
• Assists in capturing demographic information and communicates with providers about hospital discharge and follow-up care.
• Maintains vaccine temperature logs, inventory and ordering of medical supplies, and disposes of expired samples.
