Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant in Practice Operations to support the delivery of healthcare services. The role involves preparing patients for exams, updating records, and coordinating with care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The ideal candidate will have a year of clinical experience or a completed Medical Assistant program, plus BLS/CPR certification and a willingness to participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience OR graduate of Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• BLS/CPR: Current or within 60 days of hire; through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient records prior to appointment.
• Prepare patients for examination and escort to exam room, including vitals and history update.
• Assist in maintaining clinical supplies, cleaning exam rooms and handling biohazardous waste per protocol.
• Communicate with Care Team regarding discharge, tests, and patient education on chronic conditions.
