Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a compassionate full-time Phlebotomist to join our clinical team in Illinois. This is a Monday–Friday position with no weekends or major holidays, offering a strong work-life balance within an oncology setting.

The role involves phlebotomy, documentation, inventory management, and travel to outside clinics as needed. A high school diploma and phlebotomy experience are required; ASCP or BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• One year of phlebotomy experience
• ASCP or other approved professional association certification preferred
• BLS/CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program including accessioning logs, equipment records and checklists.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures viability before use.
• Sends specimens to reference laboratories for testing not performed in house.
• Travel to outside clinics as needed or requested.
