Job summary

SunState Medical Specialists is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with chemotherapy oral prescriptions, inventory control, and meticulous documentation in compliance with procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities include preparing medications for pharmacist review, securing insurance approvals when needed, stocking medications, and maintaining logs while protecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in retail pharmacy.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescribed medications accurately and on time for pharmacist review.
• Ensure insurance approval prior to preparing orders when applicable; assist with pre-certification and referrals.
• Inventory medications, maintain records, and stock drugs as needed.
• Keep the pharmacy organized, check for outdated medications, maintain logs.
• Assist the pharmacist with phones, faxing, and documentation.
• Monitor medication inventory, prepare labels, and document changes.
• Order drugs under the pharmacist's supervision.
• Perform other duties as delegated by the pharmacist.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Attend meetings and educational programs as needed.
