Qualifications

• Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States
• English Proficiency: Pharmacy Technician candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English
• Certification: For positions above the full performance level - must pass a national certification and hold an active national certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
• Experience: One year of experience equivalent to GS-7 or higher; creditable if in professional pharmacy technician practice
• Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of concepts and policies in specialized pharmacy areas (sterile compounding, automation, etc.)
• Ability: Train and orient staff and students; evaluate and coordinate workflow within the pharmacy

Responsabilités

• Oncology technical duties including sterile product preparation and handling hazardous/high-risk medications
• Compound complex hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products
• Coordinate with oncology pharmacists and clinic nurses to reduce medication waste
• Train pharmacy staff and students in aseptic technique and sterile compounding practices
• Maintain records of temperatures, humidity, pressures, and cleanliness of sterile areas
• Maintain compliance with USP 797/800 and VA policies; keep licenses and CE up to date
