The US Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (GS-7) to stock, assemble ward orders, process prescriptions, and manage sterile and hazardous drug compounding. Duties include inventory, delivery, and distribution in a high‑compliance environment.

Candidates must be a US citizen, proficient in English, and hold or be eligible for national certification (PTCB or ExCPT). Grandfathering provisions may apply for current VA staff.

Qualifications

• Citizenship in the United States is required.
• English language proficiency is required for appointment.
• Certification through PTCB (CPhT) or NHA (ExCPT) is required for higher levels.
• Grandfathering provisions may apply for VA employees.
• Foreign education must be evaluated for creditability.

Responsabilités

• Stock and inventory medications and supplies.
• Deliver, assemble ward orders, and dispense medications.
• Perform prescription assembly and sterile compounding incl. hazardous drugs.
• Distribute controlled substances according to policy.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with pharmacy procedures.
