Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is a major teaching hospital and Level I trauma center. We seek a Program Manager of Pharmacotherapy to lead an oncology pharmacotherapy program, collaborating across inpatient and ambulatory settings and ensuring high-quality patient care within our CDTM framework.

You will supervise pharmacotherapy activities, contribute to committee work, and mentor staff while maintaining compliance with USP and clinical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school.
  • Current NYS Pharmacist license and registration.
  • Completed PGY1 and PGY2 residency training.
  • BCOP certification within 12 months of hire.
  • CDTM certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Active NYS pharmacist license and related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a clinical pharmacotherapy program within an oncology team; participate in rounds/clinic visits; provide pharmacotherapy and pharmacoeconomic consultations; educate patients and caregivers; contribute to education initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a CDTM agreement with physician providers in hematology/oncology settings.
  • Evaluate patient encounter productivity and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain USP <797> proficiency for clinic-based compounding.
  • Participate in tumor boards for hematology/oncology practice areas.
  • Oversee quality assurance for oncology pharmacy programs and manage Epic treatment plans.
  • Participate in ambulatory antimicrobial stewardship and staff development.
  • Create and manage practice guidelines to improve pharmaceutical care and safety.
  • Document clinical interventions, ADRs, and medication errors.
  • Serve on Pharmacy & Therapeutics and related committees; participate in MUE/P&T requests.
  • Precept pharmacy residents and mentor students; support scholarly activity.
  • Support high-risk oncology patients with weekend on-call coverage and chart surveillance.
  • Identify opportunities for Medication Use Evaluations and monographs.
