Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey seeks a Patient Services Representative to be the front-line face of our cancer institute, coordinating patient access across multiple sites. The role requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years in healthcare, strong English communication, and comfort with office software.

You will schedule Medical, Surgical, Radiation Oncology and Infusion visits, verify insurance, update demographics, and ensure referrals are active.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience.
• Ability to learn clinical information and criteria.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong English reading/writing/speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of Medical, Surgical and Radiation Oncology, Infusion and referrals across sites.
• Serve as hub for scheduling, demographics, insurance updates, and active referrals.
• Interact with patients by phone from the call center, meeting phone performance metrics.
• Make outbound calls to prepare patients for upcoming appointments or reschedule missed visits.
• Interact with patients in person at clinic locations and schedule referrals.
