Inova Health System is seeking an Oncology Patient Specialist 2 for the Fairfax area. This part-time PRN/day shift role supports oncology scheduling, patient access, and revenue cycle activities within the Cancer Center.

Responsibilities include counseling patients on financial liability, facilitating insurance and authorization requirements, and ensuring accurate patient registration and documentation. Experience in oncology or healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.

Formación

• 3 years of healthcare patient access experience or healthcare revenue cycle experience, or 3 years in an oncology medical office.

Responsabilidades

• Mentor team members on communication methods and skills to foster effective communication.
• Provide pre-service instructions for patients with complex examinations and services; obtain additional patient information as needed.
• Review insurance benefits and patient liability to prepare for counseling sessions; assist with billing or insurance processes.
• Transcribe order entries in the EMR accurately when scheduling within the Cancer Center; know CPT/ICD codes for billing.
